again it seems...

I truly hate not being able to comfort a crying baby. It just sucks!

I thought I would not go through this again, when she showed the first signs of reflux, silent reflux, I got the medicine we used for Bliss that had taken 2 months to figure out. I thought, yay I caught it early, no worries.

But no, she hurts and cries for hours at night and in the day sometimes too and all my tricks are moot.

I hate it.

I do not want her hurting. I want to ease her pain.

I am right with you on the reflux...it sucks to not be able to fix it in an instant.
W has been VERY fussy today and I just remembered what someone told me about the "wonder weeks"- I wonder if Soul is experiencing that on top of her reflux (like W seems to be right now).

Oh Bleu!!! I'm so sorry this is happening. My goodness, are we twins or what. My sister got me on to Bauer Colic drops, which seemed to help a little.

My theory is, sometimes, some babies are just criers. As long as she is warm and safe and nurtured, (which obviously she would be, having you as a momma!) ... then she is ok. She can't cry forever ... and babies are hardy creatures. She will be ok.

Take care of yourself mate, email me anytime. It's hard, God I know it is. Things never stay the same, the good or the bad.

Sending you up some peace. XO

Hi Bleu,
A thought for you...
If it isnt reflux and is instead a type of intense gassy pain - this is what my little one went thru until my amazing NP told me to start taking over the counter lactose meds. Even though I am not lactose intolerant, there were some issues for her with getting the lactose thru my milk. She recommended getting the expensive med that the pharmacy has over the counter - it has to be kept in the fridge, and taking it three times daily. I swear I never saw such a quick turn around. after one dayof me taking themeds, there was no more crying, no more fussing & best of all no more obvious hurting.
I hopr this helps you & Soul

My Pedi had us give J probiotics in expressed milk from the day he was born. Don't really know if it worked or if he just has a gut of steel, but no crying/gas issues for us. She swears it reduced her colic calls in the middle of the night significantly. We use Solaray powder.

Having a crying baby that can't be comforted is the worst!

If you decide to use probiotics (possibly you already are, and in all likelihood you already know this so I feel sort of dumb saying it) but you can get infant acidophilus powder and just put some on your nipples before she latches on and use that as an easy way to get it into her. Udo's is the brand my best friend and mother of 4 recommends, I think. If you think it might be a lactose thing, there are other dairy-free probiotics available and you can just bust open the capsules and use them that way.

Hoping something helps soon and you are granted much peace in knowing that you are doing everything in your power and that is enough, even if your baby is still crying. Love to all of you.

What medicine do you have her on? Robbie had silent reflux and prevacid was all that worked for him. I also had to take all tomato out of my diet.

My doula told me there are chiropractors out there that can cure colic and acid reflux in 2 visits. Worth looking into.
